The Concept

Lokahi Studios, a state-of-the-art multimedia facility in Hawaii, approached Red Umbrella to craft a sonic theme for their promotional video and establish a cohesive brand identity that reflects the studio’s unique character.

The Challenge

As a transmedia studio, Lokahi embodies a dynamic range of creative spaces—from a concert hall to a broadcast studio—catering to a wide spectrum of artistic and media expressions. The challenge was to translate this versatility into a sonic identity that captures the essence of the studio’s diverse offerings.

The Approach

To represent Lokahi’s blend of tradition and innovation, we developed a sonic journey that merges classic and modern elements. The theme begins with rich, orchestral tones and emotive melodies, gradually transitioning into an energetic EDM-inspired vibe. This intentional progression reflects the studio’s ability to bridge timeless artistry with cutting-edge technology, taking viewers on an engaging and exciting auditory journey.

The Motif

The four-note motif evokes a sense of forward motion and discovery, perfectly reflecting the spirit of Lokahi Studio as a hub of creativity and imagination. Its unresolved nature symbolizes a feeling of continuity, inspiring endless possibilities.

The Logo

The sonic logo features a four-note motif played on a subtle synth, seamlessly transitioning into a cinematic ending—evoking the feeling of arrival and accomplishment
